Day 15 - Clutter Challenge

The kitchen cupboards...I am still sneezing 2 hours later from all that loose spice! I found many things to get rid of, and cleaned the cupboards at the same time....win, win!!

Day 14 - Clutter Challenge

Just a quick post for today. I have my 5 items, but I am afraid to go into the really cluttered places because they are just so much work...so these are just random things found while cleaning.

66 - A old block from a block puzzle, lost in the abyss of the toy chest.

67 - A magic bag to go back to my mom today!!

68 - 50 test strip pregnancy tests, that are going to my friend...dont ask, it was a pregnancy test coop.

69 - An old cake pan that has seen MUCH better days.

70 - A little man from the Candyland game...his friends were thrown away many months ago.

And since that is from yesterday, I need to find 4 more things to catch up for today! (but I have a Christmas party to go to, so it may have to wait until tomorrow, as I have to get ready!!)

Day 13 - Clutter Challenge

I went into the abyss today...the basement. I have plenty of things to put on my list now.

61 - A Pillow. We have way too many in this house.

62 - 2 sets of cloth dryer sheets...I think that should count for 63 as well.

Day 12 - Clutter Challenge

Day 11 - Clutter Challenge

It's been harder and harder to find pieces for me to get rid of. Not that I don't have a tonne, it's just that every spot turns into a big job in the process....

So for today (making up for not posting yesterday)

51 - A Lamp, that we got a light -bulb for and found it wasnt actually working...ask me how long I had a dead lamp in my living room....

52 - A Fax Machine.

53 - Another set of Phones with 3 handsets....insane.

54 - A hand towel that is eaten by overuse.

55 - A Gingerbread House set. (was saving it, for what? I have no idea.)

Day 10 - Clutter Challenge

It is getting harder day by day to stay motivated, as the kids just rip everything apart...but I do have some items for today.

46 - An old wildlife calendar from 2008

48 - A basket that was for a kids tea set that is broken

49 - Half chewed Uniqua (the dog got it).

50 - A Wall-E Leapster Case

Still not doing too bad. I put some of the stuff up on Facebook and Kijji to sell, and have yet to get any bites... so that is a little disheartening.

I did completely finish my desk though, and that in itself is just amazing. I threw out / recycled a whole garbage bag full of paper!

Day 9 - Clutter Challenge

Well, it's getting tougher. It's not that I don't have the clutter, it's that I am cleaning more as well and a lot goes into trash and recycling. So, my list isn't that great today.

See, still not bad for taking more time to clean than de-clutter.... and I also completely filed and organized my desk in the process!!

And on to Day 8. I am actually not home tomorrow de-cluttering as we are visiting the In-Laws, so I decided to get extra from today and make the post ready to go for tomorrow!

Day 7 - Clutter Challenge

I am on a roll with this clutter stuff. I have been cleaning like mad in the process. Must be early nesting.

So, because I have other cleaning to do, here is the list for today!

31 - Shea Butter. (I don't even know what to do with this stuff. Can you eat it?)

32 - Paint Pot of a colour that looks horrible on my wall....I am not sure why we kept this tester paint so long.

33 - Discovery Toys Catalogue. Christmas is over!!

34 - Rebecca Eckler "Toddlers Gone Wild." I was thinking of gifting this to my good friend LBR, but will wait to see if she reads my blog first. I will give her 2 weeks and if she doesnt say anything I will wrap it up for her...(she HATES Rebecca Eckler).

35 - Little Jar of Bubbles that got all spilled out, but we kept for some reason.

Day 6 - Clutter Challenge

I am loving the clutter challenge and the closer I get to February the more excited I am to keep going. 5 things a day is really much much easier than I thought it would be!

As this is New Years Eve my intention (because no one keeps resolutions) is to keep getting rid of 5 things a day until my house is clutter free.

Day 5 - Clutter Challenge

I made it! I am totally caught up. It took me a little but I have made it to 25 pieces of clutter!

21 - Night Light

22 - Lanolin Cream, I have way too much of this stuff.

23 - Dog Harness. Not sure what to do with this....

24 - A cloth bag. Donate it to goodwill?

25 - A stuffed teddy. (did I mention how much I can't stand teddies?)

It feels so great to have started the de-clutter process. It is just amazing how we are so bogged down by all the clutter that we acquire.

Day 4 - Clutter Challenge

Back to the Clutter Challenge. This is awesome! I have never felt so motivated and my house is getting cleaner room-by-room...the best part is that my kids and husband are joining in now too!

So, the list.

16 - Leather Pants. They will never fit me again. I am hoping to sell them and get a little cash and some space at the same time!

17 - 5 pairs of Children's socks. We got many pairs for Christmas, so I decided to get rid of the ones that I can't stand, that never stay on, or are just plain ugly.

18 - Baby Name Book. Will pass it on to a new mom.

19 - Going to Bed book. I had 2 copies.

20 - Siblings without Rilvary book. Needs to go back to it's original owner. :)

And yes, I have more, so there will be another post today...but then I am all caught up!!

What? 3 posts in one day? I haven't even got to my actual post of the day yet! Still playing catch-up so I am almost there... :)

Day 2 - Clutter Challenge

So I am still technically on Day 1, but I started late so I am playing catch-up for a few days. I am suprised at how easy it is for me to find 5 things a day...it's actually easier to find 10 or 12 and my house is looking so nice, because I organize as I go about the challenge.

Here is the list of my next 5.

6 - Stack of old paintchips. (why we keep these? who knows? we want to paint, but never have the time or the money to do so.)

7 - Broken Nutcracker. (Didn't make it past Christmas with a two year old...poor guy.)

8 - Organic Ginger Aid Tea. (I am going to send this to my cousin who is expecting.)

9 - Confessions of a Naughty Mommy. (I am planning on taking this book to a Used Book Store...unless someone wants it...anyone?)

10 - Canadian Small Business Kit for Dummies. (Again, to a Used Book Store.)

Day 1 - Clutter Challenge.

I signed up for the Mothering Dot Commune Clutter Challenge. It's From December 26th to February 1st. The whole premise is that you need to find 5 things a day to get out of your house, and trash doesn't count. :)

(Unless it's stuff like old earrings that needed to be trashed.)

I got to a slow start but am up to 5 items as of yesterday. I am going to post the items here just so I can keep motivated. (but will continue to post regular blog posts as I can...)

I need to decide on what I would like as a reward at the end...any suggestions??

4. A bag of gDiapers, looking to sell, but will cosign or freecycle if need be.

5. A whole host of old medications. This was actually a long time in coming, I had way too many expired etc. and was able to put them away properly.

All in all, a good start!
